Made up baby names and future psychological impact?
My new gf is black and she is pregnant. She wants to name the child something outrageous (Shaq’ri or something) and I’m not so sure. I asked if it was a tribal thing but she couldn’t even name where her family came from outside of the entire continent of Africa! I asked my wife and she just rolled her eyes. I also called my aunt and my last two ex-gf’s before LaShonda and they seemed to think to just let it go. Usually my experience with hearing I am a father are “Hey remember me, well guess what you are a dad!” then I give my lawyers name and we setup a small college fund and the monthly checks (which almost $0 goes to the children in my many, many experiences).
EDIT: I rarely sleep around. I come from a long line of men who have wives and mistress(es) and all of my girlfriend’s and my wife were well aware before we got together.
Every name in the world was made up by somebody once upon a time. Your girlfriend has the right to name her baby whatever she likes. Maybe if you are nicer to her she will give the baby your last name. And if you are really nice she might even let you choose a middle name. Good luck! lol
